    My conversation with James Clay at JISC on the “Smart” or Intelligent Campus

    In the conversation my fundamental point is why?

    I am concerned about the hidden politics and business agendas driving this as well as the opportunity cost. Standard IT is pretty much saturated …the education technology industrial matrix has to look to new markets and territory to colonise … it could be a “nice little earner” for them.

    I argue that a smart campus does not have to be predicated on technology … I argue for a design approach rather than a systems approach.
